What Is Emmaus?

A passive retreat weekend for men who want to explore their own relationship with Jesus.

About the Retreat

Emmaus is a relaxed, passive retreat weekend designed for men who would like to explore a deeper relationship with God. It is hosted by a group of men who have previously participated in the retreat weekend. It is an experience where we gather to be ministered to by each other, to experience God, and to grow.

Common Questions

Is this another program for saints?

No. Any man who wishes to grow closer to the Lord will enjoy this weekend. You don’t have to be Catholic or a member of any specific denomination.

What happens on the weekend?

We learn how to “recognize” Jesus in our everyday lives through witness, small group sharing, and reflection time.

What are the benefits?

The benefits are personal to you. Many men have experienced tremendous healing, lifting of burdens, and an increase of love, joy, peace, understanding, and a new sense of belonging.

How often is Emmaus held?

The retreat is offered twice a year, in the Fall and Spring. The number of participants is limited.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the weekend is about $250, which includes all meals and accommodations. You do not need to be Catholic to attend. Limited partial scholarships are available.

You Are Invited

You are invited to meet Jesus on your own Road to Emmaus during the Emmaus Weekend retreat. Every one of us has considered the questions, “Does God really exist?” or “How should God’s existence affect my life?” The Emmaus retreat gives you time away to explore the answers.
